October 2019:  Tom Troll will be a featured speaker in Houston at the annual conference of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals.  Tom’s presentation relates to the Cost Approach, the inappropriate adjustments being made to depreciated cost by some appraisal districts, the proper methodology for abstracting depreciation in sales, and the the breakdown method of analyzing depreciation.

July 2018:  Ron Little was a featured speaker in Vancouver, British Columbia at the annual conference of the Institute for Professional in Taxation.  Ron’s presentation related to analysis methodologies for evaluating Unequal Appraisal of real properties.

November 2017:  Tom Troll was a featured speaker in Indian Wells, California at the annual property tax symposium of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.  Tom’s presentation related to Capital Layer Evaluations as applied to enterprise properties with high levels of intangible business value and the use of the technique to identify and measure obsolescence.

September 2017:  Tom Troll was a featured speaker in Fort Worth, Texas at the annual conference of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals. March 2017:  Tom Troll was a featured speaker in Nashville, Tennessee at the annual conference for medical owners and operators sponsored by the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.  Tom’s presentation related to Capital Layer Evaluations as applied to hospitals, nursing homes, etc. and the use of the technique to identify and measure obsolescence.

September 2016:  The Appraisal Journal of The Appraisal Institute published the article ‘Capital Layer Evaluations – Hotels and More’ authored by Tom Troll.  The article relates to evaluating and separating tangible and intangible value in properties having significant intangible business value.

September 2015:  Tom Troll was a featured speaker in Austin, Texas at the annual conference of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals.  Tom’s presentation (It’s the Value, Stupid!) related to an overview of income property valuation plus a detailed comparison of loading capitalization rates for property taxes – both full load and owner load.
